Buttermilk Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

1 _ Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer until well blended.

2 _ Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

3 _ Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

4 _ Stir in flavorings.

5 _ Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

6 _ Bake at 325 degrees F (163 degrees C) for 1 hour.
