Buttermilk Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

  5. Make sure you add eggs 1 @time and stir and then alternate flour and buttermilk till all mixed in and I use orange flavoring not lemon. It makes A difference and it's to die for

  7. Where's the rest of the recipe? I have an idea of how to do it. I have another pound cake recipe I follow where I cream the butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time, then I alternate the flour( add baking soda and sift once) with the buttermilk. When alternating flour and buttermilk make sure you start and end with flour. Then add your flavour.
    I have never tried this recipe. I wonder if it's moist? I don't like cream cheese pound cake. For some reason the cake isn't moist enough for me.

    3. you've got it correct Frankie except that you add flavorings B4 the flour mixture. Bake at 325* for 90 minutes

    1. Yes you can or even canned milk. This is just like the recipe I use except not with buttermilk. It is delicious!

    1. Just add a tbs of white vinegar ...to your regular milk.

      I also, used RUM EXTRACT instead of
      Lemon Extract.
      Omg Sooo good.
