Easy Dump Cake


  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips


1_ Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.

2_ In a bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, vegetable oil, sugar, and water. Gently fold in the sour cream and chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan.

3_ Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to cooling racks.


  1. I don't really consider this a "dump cake". Dump cakes usually isn't mixed in a bowl and poured into a pan--it is "dumped" dry into the pan. Disappointed :(

    1. That was my 1st thought, too, Francis. My dump cake is 1 can of crushed pineapple, 1 can cherry pie filling, and one dry yellow cake mix. Bake 350 till golden brown. Oh, Yeah, and little pieces of margarine all over top. May add chopped pecans, too, if you wish.
