Dulce de Leche Cake

Ingredients

For Caramel Cake Layers:
  • 3/4 cup (170g) butter, softened at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (300g) white granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 14-ounce can (396g) dulce de leche, softened
  • 1 1/3 cups (315ml) milk
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons (16g) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
For Salted Caramel Buttercream:
  • 2 cups (453g) butter; softened at room temperature
  • 14-ounce can (396g) dulce de leche
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 14-ounce can (396) dulce de leche, for filling
For Sugar Garnish:
  • 1 cup (200g) white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (118ml) water
